January 2010
This time last year
I stayed home, in my pjs, listened to records and did a puzzle (I know, pretty wild way to spend New Years… if you’re 86 years old). This year I said I’d go to a party with friends. Not gonna lie, I’m kinda longing for pjs, records & a puzzle over a room full of people. I really am a hermit deep down inside. … or perhaps I’m just on people overload. Too many...

Currently playing Boom Blocks on Wii with a two yr old. I’m winning.
Is it rude to curl up on a couch and sleep in the middle of a party? Crap, I thought so…
I so don’t feel like being sociable but I’m stuck at a party. I just want to practice my hermit skillz.
Perfect song for my week: “i drive a lot” by Starflyer 59. Currently listening to it.
Driving again. I’m kinda really tired of jetting around southern Ontario. esp in this ol clunker van.

bowl of goodness
Today is yet another family christmas… but this is the one I always really really look forward to. There’s about 40 of us and it is such a joy and honour to spend time together. Instead of having yet another turkey, we’re having soups and appetizers (and of course dessert). I can’t wait! I LOVE soup. My contribution will be a lovely creamy baked potato soup topped with...
oh no!
my new sweatpants shrunk just a little too much in the length. boooooooooooooooo!
p.s.
I think I’m in love with my brother’s dog. It is so cute and petit. I just want to cuddle with it for ever and ever and ever. Will post photos of his cuteness later.
time to relax
It’s been a long morning. R’s dad and grandma just left after a lovely visit, and now I plan to curl up on the couch with my snuggie, some apple cider and watch one of the movies I got for Christmas. Up for viewing is “Little Dorrit” (starring the lovely Matthew Macfayden). My parents have been on a huge BBC kick lately and a good chunk of our presents had to do with things...

Things I'm looking forward to in a new car:
wind shield wipers that have more than one speed (i.e. ‘super fast’)
working speakers on the driver’s side
a ‘reverse’ that doesn’t pop out of gear when you’re trying to use it
a parking break that won’t freeze in the middle of winter
a back right indicator light that works
no rust
a wind shield that is fully intact (i.e. no cracks)
AND if...
merry christmas (?)
Well, yesterday our car went byebye for realz. It is no more. It would cost $800+ to fix it, and it would NOT be worth it as we’re planning on buying something super soon. Of course I find out about all of this at 4pm yesterday when R shows up at work with my sister in law and her kiddies when he tells me “we’re all going together to my parents”. So yeah, we crammed into...

Off to see a Christmas show @ the Casbah
R’s playing a few songs… plus there’s a whole bunch of locals. Plus all proceeds go to help the homeless in Hamilton. Overall, it should be a splendid evening.

I spent a good three hours in Zellers today
It was a relaxing shopping spree. Now, Zellers is like a Canadian Walmart in that it’s a giant big store with everything- BUT it’s not so overwhelming or desperate. (At least that’s what I tell myself, cause Walmart sends me into panic attacks.. it’s something about their lights and the way their displays are…) Anywho, R and I went up and down EVERY aisle. Just...
FRIIIIIDAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEE
So I manage to get off work an hour early, hoping to enjoy some extra time with the hubby. But yeah…….. phoned him five times, no answer at home or the cell. SOOOO I went to A & W and had a very mediocre chicken burger, then went to DQ for a strawberry milkshake. And as I’m typing this he strolls in the door an hour and a half later. Seriously, what’s the point of...
