My First Record, Tape, and Compact Disc

I fondly remember the days of you playing Fat Boys and Too Short on VERY HEAVY rotation and I relished being one of the main sources of your introduction to metal. I don’t remember some of the early metal bands that you liked, but once you embraced King Diamond / Mercyful Fate and I knew that rap was pretty much going to the major back-burner. I think that Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Marilyn Manson were some of the other heavy bands that you really enjoyed. Correct me.

Let’s see…

My first (and only) record was a 7-inch by a rockabilly punk band called The Wednesdays. I had a crush on the lead singer (and his guitar.)

First cassette (besides C is for Cookie by the Cookie Monster) was the Beach Boys Greatest hits.

My first CD was Aerosmith’s Get a Grip. Second was Boys II Men. (You know you loved ‘em!)

Gosh, this is hard.

First record: probably something by the Beatles

First Cassette: Smashing Pumpkins Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness (I never bought many cassettes, and this prob wasn’t the first, but it stands out to me cause I the double cd was too expensive to buy, so I cheaped out for the tape.)

First CD: although I was given many cds as a child… the first one i bought for myself with my own hard earned cash was probably Oasis “What’s the story morning glory?”
